Pablo Tejedor-Gutiérrez

Pablo Tejedor-Gutiérrez is a Spanish cellist and viola da gamba player specializing in historical performance. Praised as “a very virtuoso solo cello” (Baroquiades), with “rapid playing” and “moving” musicianship (Planet Hugill, Andrew Benson-Wilson), he was awarded third prize at the 2023 Spanish National Early Music Competition and received the 2022 BritishSpanish Society Arts Award.

Trained in Spain, Switzerland, and the UK—where he completed an Artist Diploma with distinction at the Royal College of Music—Pablo has performed internationally at prestigious venues such as Victoria Hall, Teatro Real, and the Muziekgebouw. He has also appeared at major festivals including Saintes, Utrecht, and Ambronay, and has been featured on BBC Radio 3, RTS, and Radio Catalunya.

He collaborates with leading figures in early music, including William Christie, Rachel Podger, Ophélie Gaillard, and Philippe Herreweghe, and regularly performs with acclaimed ensembles such as Academia Montis Regalis, Holland Baroque, and Instruments of Time and Truth. As a soloist, he appears across Europe with his ensemble La Tirana and others.

Alongside his performance career, Pablo is active in teaching and research, focusing on the musical culture of the Enlightenment. He has delivered guest lectures at institutions such as Oxford University and the Royal College of Music.

Upcoming projects include his debut solo CD featuring forgotten Romantic repertoire, a new production for Il Maggio Musicale, and concert tours in Italy, France, and the UK.
